After corresponding regularly for a couple of years with a full time evangelist in Chennai, India, via email, the congregation decided to send financial support to benefit the Lord’s work in this fertile plain. The evangelist who contacted us through our webpage years ago, refers to himself as G. David. He is native to India, as his full name attests, but he kindly allows me to address him as noted. Aside from the rigors of public and private Bible classes, G. David hosts a special class each Friday for local preachers willing to assemble for study. Through this work, more than 25 preachers have been baptized into Christ for the remission of sins, casting off the recognized errors of their previous denominational affiliations. G. David works tirelessly, often working seven days a week in some manner of ministry.
In the year 2018, we were sent pictures of 33 baptisms. Many of these came as a result of months of private studies conducted at the local church building or in the homes of the students or a concerned loved one. These studies often span 4 to 6 hours, and amazement has been expressed many times at the eagerness and devotion of these students. Those baptized this past year exemplified great diversity: some were very old, while others were mere teenagers; some were from the various denominations located in the city, but others were from the religions of Hindu and Islam.
The most effective way to support this great work is through consistent prayer on behalf of brother G. David and the Madhumanagar church, and on behalf of the many lost souls who are dissatisfied with their current religious practice and are longing to be fed on the bread of life, drinking from the spring of water welling up to eternal life. Monetary support may be contributed to the church here in Leipers Fork, who will in turn forward all support to the Madhumanagar church in India.
