What Does It Mean To Be Faithful?

Posted on March 10, 2012 at 4:35 PM

We read in I PETER 3:15-16, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear: having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ”. What is the best way to share your faith in Jesus Chri

Calling on the Name of the Lord

Posted on January 21, 2012 at 9:45 PM

In ROMANS 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" In ACTS 2:21, as Peter quotes JOEL 2:32, He states,  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  Our thoughts today will focus on the question, “What does it mean to call upon the name of the Lord?” Before we look at what it means, let us consider how some have grossly misinterpreted and misunderstood it’s meaning. &#...

Mephibosheth

Posted on December 31, 2011 at 6:25 PM

In ROMANS 15:4, the apostle Paul wrote, "For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope." With these words in mind, I would like us to consider a few thoughts from the book of II SAMUEL, specifically regarding the man, Mephibosheth. Mephibosheth is by no means a “main character” in the overall picture of the Bible, perhaps one might not even think of his role in II SAMUEL to be of ex...

For God So Loved pt.2

Posted on December 25, 2011 at 12:25 AM

John writes in I JOHN 4:19,”We love Him,(God), because He first loved us.” The question, “which is the greatest commandment in the law?” was ask of Jesus by a Pharisee lawyer. That question, and Jesus’ response to it is found in MATTHEW 22: 36-40. “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy...

For God So Loved

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 11:30 PM

Ironically, and very sadly, the most powerful word known to man is also the most misused and misunderstood. If we could only grasp the meaningand the fullness of this term, and then allow its power to reign over ourlives, all wars would cease. Homelessness would be a thing of the past. Greed would be non-existent. Evil would have no choice but to succumb to its force. What word could be so mighty and influential --- LOVE. Love is such a huge word for only having fou...

Jesus Makes Forgiveness Possible

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 11:00 PM

If you remember the first time Moses received the Ten Commandments inscribed in the stone tablets, Moses came off the mountain only to find Israel worshiping the idle which they had made, the golden calf. This of course breaking the first of the Ten Commandments as it reads, “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3), and being angered Moses destroyed the tablets of stone. However, if we fast forward to the second time Moses receives the Ten Commandments, this ...

The Parable of the Ten Virgins

Posted on November 7, 2011 at 11:15 AM

In MATTHEW 25:1-13,we find Jesus’ parable of the ten virgins. “Then shall the kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went froth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish too their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom c...

Are You Growing In The Faith?

Posted on October 29, 2011 at 8:35 PM

In II THESSALONIANS 1:3, Paul commended the church for its growing faith. He said, "...your faith groweth exceedingly and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth." Even in the midst of trouble and trials, these new-born” babes” in Christ, were making spiritual pro-gress. Wouldn't it be great if this could be said of each and every one of us? Growing in faith is necessary and vital to our salvation. But, what does it mean to grow in faith? Let us co...

He Glorified God Giving Him Thanks

Posted on October 16, 2011 at 12:15 AM

We read in LUKE 17:11-18,”And it came to pass as He went to Jerusalem, that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as He entered into a certain village, there met Him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus master, have mercy on us. And when He saw them, He said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was heal...
